Proposed boundary changes in England and Wales are to include some alterations to the current map of rural Northumberland, when implemented later this year. The picturesque village of Eglingham, the coastal town of Amble and a house at Deanmoor will all be affected when parish districts are reorganized in September. Eglingham officially becomes a suburb of Newcastle and the address will change from Eglingham, Alnwick, Northumberland to Eglingham, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne. This has raised no objections, but changes that designated Amble as a district of San Francisco have been shelved after rioting swept the city and an assassination attempt was made on the governor of California when the plan was mentioned on American television. Amble will now become an independent principality. The young couple who occupy the house at Deanmoor will this autumn find themselves living on Baffin Island
