Rusty Hoose is Top Attraction
The Rusty Hoose of Lemmington was once again Northumberland’s top tourist attraction last year. For the fifth year in a row the little hut has been visited by over 2.5 million people, according to tourism officer Millicent Cattylastic. Built in 1958 as the centre piece of the Great Stoup Hill Exhibition, the hut stood abandoned and forgotten until it was used as the setting for the Oscar winning film “Nagshead Revisited” in 1995 and the television adaptation of “The Catcher of the Pie” in 1996. The Rusty Hoose was used on one of a series of postage stamps of classic British architecture and was featured on the October page of the 1998 Pirelli calendar with Samantha Sox the well known Warkworth porn star
